Posts from the New World

As has become the trend - I wrote this 2 days ago -

It's strange to be in an English Speaking Country again! It's strange not to hear Spanish being spoken, and I have to say- I miss hearing the language, and also speaking it.
Even though my Spanish isn't that good - I had so much fun speaking it, and learning it!

I really don't know what it is - but I really do seem to be more social, and having no problems starting up conversations, or engaging in one with complete strangers!

I'm taking the train down to LA - and there is a beautiful 'sightseeing' car with big windows, where you can sit and see the world go by, and because they're big tables, 4 can sit on one, so i've met a lovely french-belgian couple, and a young russian economist!
The French girl won her trip to LA- she's a visual designer and she entered some t-shirt designing competition, and she won, and she was flown over and she's going to the sets of the Big Bang Theory! So cool! And her belgian boyfriend works for sound cloud! quite cool!

Its strange to be with family and known people again!
After being on my own, and doing my own thing, and not really knowing anyone, making friends as I go along - it really is weird to be in a 'normal' environment again!
I have to admit, I've really enjoyed being on my own, and meeting all these new people. And floating around, with only limited contact with the 'real' world! It's been liberating - scarily!
I am really not looking forward to going back home. It's almost like some new world has opened up, and maybe this is where I'm meant to be?
I was chatting with a friend yesterday, and he was saying how much he loves America, and I was saying, how much I dislike it - apart from maybe NYC - and he said, you thrive in chaos, and you like it, and that is so true. Too sterile and organized an environment really scares me, and I really do not like it! I felt really comfortable and happy in Lat Am- it was the right amount of chaos, madness, dysfunctionality (?) - I loved it! But you knew that already!  :-)
Even though I miss it- there's no panic - like when I might go back and see that part of the world again - either I will never go back (I hope that's not the case), or I will go back very soon! Maybe I know that it will happen one way or another, and now that i've been - I know it really isn't the other end of the world - but somewhere that is really accessible (mentally, spiritually) and somewhere that is familiar!

And I have to say - it was strange and a bit difficult to start speaking in Hindi again - I was struggling to find words! I had mentally switched off from it, since I didn't need it at all - and now to be suddenly speaking it again- very weird!

The American landscape pales in comparison to the LatAm scene (of course Im being biased, but its also true).
There was just so much character on the other continent!!!

The Pacific coast has appeared - and it is quite amazing!
Perfect timing as well - it's almost sunset! The water looks quite calm, and the waves are tiny! I thought it would be much rougher for some reason!
Anyways - im off to enjoy the sunset over the Pacific! Chau!
